This course begins with the colorful
and influential Russian composer
Rimsky-Korsakov, the composer
of Scheherazade. That leads to
the remarkable innovations of
Stravinsky, with Firebird and The
Rite of Spring, the centerpiece of
the course. We end our survey by
looking more briefly at Prokofieff
and the remarkable Scriabin, not
forgetting a glance at Rachmaninoff.
