Hosted by the Wilmington Fire Department, this small-group course is based on the book Living Safely, Aging Well by Dorothy A. Drago and focuses on improving safety and preventing injuries for older adults. Through weekly discussions and guided reflections, participants explore key topics like fall prevention, home safety, fire hazards and self-advocacy in healthcare. Each session encourages collaboration, emphasizes practical application and provides local resources that can help us age gracefully. Books are provided! Enrollment is limited!

Brooke Sasser is the fire and life safety educator for the Wilmington Fire Department. She develops and teaches community programs that focus on risk reduction and safety education for all ages.
