Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Course
Join Dr. Jessica Magnus for a live-online 8-Week Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Course designed for participants 18+ to learn strategies to help manage stress, improve well-being, reduce symptoms of chronic pain, and navigate life with greater clarity, compassion, and resilience.
What is MBSR? MBSR is an evidence-based program developed in 1979 by Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn at the Univ. of Massachusetts Medical Center and involves systematic training offering structured and practical approaches to cultivating present-moment awareness and integrating mindfulness into daily life.
Weekly sessions (2.5 hours) combine experiential learning, guided meditation, mindful movement, and group dialogue to build skills that last a lifetime.

Course Structure:
- When: July 14 – Sept 8 at 6-8:30pmET (Orientation July 7, 6-hour retreat 9/6; no class 8/4)
- Exact Session Dates: July 14, July 21, July 28, August 11, Aug 18, Aug 25, Sept 2, Sept 8
- Live online expert instruction by a qualified MBSR facilitator
- Duration: 8 weekly sessions (2.5 hours each), plus a Day of Mindfulness (a 6-hour retreat-style experience - to take place on 9/6)
- Location: Live via Zoom (interactive & camera-on participation encouraged)
- Home Practice: ~45 minutes/day with guided meditation recordings, mindful living practices, & journaling prompts
- Certificate of Completion (upon attending required sessions)
