Expand your musical horizons with this course featuring musicians from Asia, Africa, Europe and South America who have achieved global attention through their creativity, skill and perhaps even their message to the world. Each session addresses a different continent and includes videos and lectures exploring musical influences from the 20th and 21st centuries.
Rick Leighton has been writing music and performing since he was 14. He was first exposed to world music in the 1970s and has always appreciated the diversity of global rhythms and genres. He has been an active educator since the mid-1980s and has taught at three different OLLI programs.
