Their stories show how they lived, worked and served their country during this challenging time. Archived pictures, period items and sailor interviews bring to life the stories that unfolded on the ship. The USS North Carolina, located in Wilmington since 1961, is a memorial to the state’s service members who were killed in action during WWII.
