Nov. 4 Behind Enemy Lines: Women in Revolutionary Wilmington, 1775-1783
Kim Sherman, Ph.D., lecturer in the UNCW Department of History, shares the experiences of Wilmington women during the American Revolution. She tells the story of how, despite their differences, women worked across lines to support one another during a period of political and social complexity.
Nov. 18 WILMA?Magazine: Its Creation and Production
Vicky Janowski, editor of WILMA magazine and the Greater Wilmington Business Journal, discusses the creation and production of the lifestyle magazine that has covered women from all corners of the Cape Fear region for the past 20 years. She explains how the publication has evolved and describes its unique place in the media landscape. She also introduces Good Life Wilmington, a lifestyle media outlet geared toward active older adults.
Dec. 2 Frances Perkins: History’s Forgotten Leader for the People
Jennifer Le Zotte, Ph.D., an associate professor of history at UNCW, shares the life of the United States’ first female cabinet member, who served as Secretary of Labor under Franklin D. Roosevelt. She describes Perkins’s accomplishments and reveals the enormous impact Perkins has had on American society.

Carole Fink, Ph.D., former UNCW Department of History faculty member and Humanities Distinguished Professor of History emerita at The Ohio State University, discusses the future of NATO. The historic U.S.-led mutual defense alliance against the Soviet Union is now under debate. Will it remain a fundamental institution of U.S.-European solidarity?
