Ready to make music and have fun? This beginner-friendly ukulele class is perfect for those with little to no experience. Learn the basics of holding, tuning, and caring for your instrument, along with simple chords and strumming patterns to get you playing right away. By the end of the course, you’ll be able to play a few songs and feel confident continuing your musical journey. Join this supportive, relaxed environment. Participants should bring their own ukulele. An email with information and links on where to purchase a ukulele (approximately $100) will be sent out for those who need one.

Bev and Scott Veals have been leading ukulele groups in the Wilmington area for four years, bringing a fun, engaging approach to learning. Bev Veals studied music at Appalachian State University, and Scott Veals has played guitar since high school. They love sharing the joy of the ukulele and its many benefits, including improved mental health, cognitive function, physical dexterity, and social connection.
