Japanese cuisine is enjoyed around the world, with dishes such as sushi and ramen widely recognized. Explore the flavors and traditions of everyday Japanese home cooking through discussion, stories, ingredient demonstrations, and cultural insights. Learn about common ingredients found in local grocery stores, seasonal food traditions, table etiquette, and proper chopstick use while gaining a deeper understanding of Japanese food culture and daily life. 

Sahashi has served as a Japan Outreach Initiative (JOI) Coordinator at UNCW since August 2025. In this role, she promotes Japanese culture through workshops and community programs that foster greater understanding and appreciation of Japan in Wilmington. She is originally from Gifu Prefecture, Japan
