The Periodic Table and Its Superstars

In this course, learn how the periodic table has evolved and why the elements are arranged as they are. Special focus is given to the table’s superstars: nitrogen, silicon, lithium and carbon. ?We also learn fascinating facts, such as why it’s called Silicon Valley and how lithium poses a fire risk in Teslas.  

Michael Paesler is an emeritus professor and former chair of the Department of Physics at NC State University. His long career included visiting professorships at institutes and universities around the world.
