Two miles off the coast of Southport lies Bald Head Island, a unique island bordered by the Atlantic Ocean and the Cape Fear River and home to the northernmost semitropical climate on the East Coast. Explore the island’s maritime forests, marshes, and wildlife with naturalist guides from the Bald Head Island Conservancy as you travel by golf cart throughout the day.
Price includes round-trip adult ferry transportation from Southport, guided touring and island transportation, a catered deli lunch, admission to Old Baldy and an opportunity to climb Old Baldy Lighthouse for panoramic coastal views.
Participants must be on the 8 a.m. ferry from the Deep Point Marina in Southport in order to arrive on Bald Head in time for the program. Please meet upstairs near the cafe and bathrooms at 7:40 a.m.
